Community is at the heart of our family business. The community of craftspeople and valued team members who make Banham what it is; the community of people that invite us into their homes, and trust us to look after their families and livelihoods. Those communities, and our commitment to protection and public service, were our inspiration for giving back: and so the Banham foundation was born in 2010.
As a British company that focuses on homegrown talent and craft, we’ve built lasting relationships with charities that focus on social impact and strengthening communities.
Since 2015, we’ve been proud to partner with The Royal Marsden, world-leaders in cancer treatment and care since the hospital was founded in 1851, to sponsor the Banham Marsden March. Every May, thousands of participants walk the 15-mile route between the Hospital’s sites in Chelsea and Sutton to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. It’s their flagship fundraising event, and has raised over £21 million to date. And we’re not just behind the cause in spirit - our team has walked the march every year since 2015, starting a new tradition for us as a family business.

In 2025, our 99th year, we expanded our reach to support more than 40 different causes, reinvesting in British institutions. From crucial healthcare and research, with donations to Alzheimer’s Research, Moorfield’s Eye Charity, Muscular Dystrophy UK, and Smile Train offering corrective surgery for children born with cleft lips and palates, to name just a few.
We’ve focused too on community support: foodbanks through the Trussell Trust, shelter for the homeless at Forest Churches night shelter, and emergency services such as the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
But, and perhaps unsurprisingly given that we’re a family business, the biggest proportion of our list is given over to supporting children and young people. From the Queen Elizabeth's Foundation for Disabled Children to Tools4Teens and the Willow Foundation which helps seriously ill young adults and their families make lasting memories with bespoke Special Days, these causes are close to our heart.

Now, in our centenary year, we have big plans to make our biggest impact yet. In May, more than 7,000 members of our community joined us on our annual Marsden March raising over £1.6million for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. This marks the event’s 15th year and brings our total raised to more than £21million. And now that we’ve caught our breath, we’re limbering up again for The Big Marsden Trek in September, when we’ll be walking the distance of a marathon across the Surrey countryside to add even more to our fundraising total. So, whether you dust off your hiking boots or add to our donations by choosing us for your home or business, you’ll always be giving something back with Banham.
