Find an accredited locksmith
Unfortunately, locksmith services aren’t regulated by the UK government, meaning there are over 6,500 untrained workers operating in the UK. For peace of mind, we recommend hiring an MLA (Master Locksmith Association) approved locksmith. They are bonded and insured, meaning you don’t have to worry about damages during installation. They are also DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked.
Choose a specialist locksmith
It can be difficult finding a locksmith that suits your needs. Some specialise in certain locks, while others only work on specific types of properties. Banham locksmiths are approved by the MLA and are trained to work on all locks and property types.
Rely on an expert's opinion
It’s not always a simple decision when replacing your locks and it can be beneficial to get an expert’s second opinion. We offer a free site survey where one of our locksmiths can visit your property and provide a full assessment. Feel free to ask them any questions you may have; they’ll be happy to help.
Make sure the costs are fair
Be wary of any locksmith that is unclear about their prices. Some prey on the vulnerability of those who are locked out of their home and charge wild prices. We charge per hour to avoid any large upfront costs. Look at our pricing guide here.
Check availability
Some locksmiths can be unreliable and only work during office hours in certain areas. Banham locksmiths have a rapid response time and operate across London, Guildford, Worthing, Brighton & East Sussex, Portsmouth, Bristol and other South East areas, 24/7 365 days a year.
